Description
Deployed over the summer, our new workflow utilizes tools available to increase transparency about the electronic resources acquisitions process. Technical Services worked with subject librarians to create a workflow that both got Acquisitions all the information needed to license or trial new resources while providing a space for subject librarians to work on resource descriptions and use a new tagging system to identify resources with full or partial access. In this session, I’ll go over our development process and discuss the first few months of use, noting both positive and negative outcomes.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:
- Be able to apply ideas and concepts heard to implement a new electronic resource workflow at their institutions
- Understand why involving subject librarians in an electronic resource activation process is beneficial to both librarians and users
- Understand how increased organization can ease internal burdens and increase transparency with stakeholders.
