This webinar will discuss the training and support middle managers received when they were new to their positions as well as the training they wish they had received, based on twenty interviews with current middle managers. We will talk about the range of experiences these middle managers had regarding onboarding, training, and professional development and share our ideas for improving new middle managers’ experiences. We will also provide time for audience members to share their own experiences.

By the end of this webinar, attendees will:- understand the range of training opportunities their middle manager colleagues have experienced;
- be able to contextualize their own level of training within this continuum; and
- learn about what opportunities exist that they could advocate for, whether for themselves or managers they supervise.
